iPhone Review.

Salam sejahtera.

Mungkin ramai diantara kita masih lagi tidak berapa tahu mengenai iPhone yang

sememangnya adalah gadjet yang paling diminati ramai pada masa ini. Disini 

saya ingin menceritakan serba sedikit mengenai iPhone dari keluaran pertama

sehingga akan datang.

iPhone pertama adalah iPhone 2G yang dikeluarkan pada 9 Januari 2007.

mempunyai spesifikasi yang agak minimum, model ini hanya diminati oleh

segelintir shja. 

Kesemua iphone mempunyai spesifikasi yang berbeza dan setiap

keluaran model baru pasti mempunyai dalaman yang lebih hebat. Perbezaan pertama

adalah RAM iaitu untuk iphone 2g = 128Mb, 3G = 128Mb, 3GS = 256Mb dan

iphone 4 = 512Mb dan masing-masing mempunyai kamera 2mp, 2mp 3.2mp dan 5mp. 

Perbezaan dari segi RAM melibatkan kepantasan membuka

atau menutup sesuatu aplikasi.

Mungkin ramai yang tidak dapat membezakan antara iPhone 3G dengan

iphone 3GS. Untuk luaran, sememangnya adalah sama jika dipandang

sekali imbas. Tetapi jika diperhatikan dengan teliti, tulisan 'iPhone' untuk

3G sedikit pudar dan untuk 3GS lebih berkilau. Bagi spesifikasi dalaman,

3G tidak mempunyai rakaman video dan tidak sesuai untuk multitask applikasi

kerana RAM yang hanya 128Mb. Mungkin agak sedikit 'lagging'.

iphone 3GS sebenarnya sudah mencukupi untuk merasa kepuasan menggunakan 

telefon keluaran Apple ini. RAM 256Mb sudah boleh berfungsi dgn baik

multitask tanpa ada sebarang 'lagging' dan kelajuan membuka sesuatu aplikasi

juga sudah memberi kepuasan hati kepada setiap pengguna.

iphone 4 adalah model keluaran yang terbaru sekali dan dilengkapi

dengan Facetime Video ( sama seperti videocall) . Selain itu, dengan RAM sebanyak 512Mb,

model ini berfungsi dengan sangat baik melalui 'multitask' aplikasi iaitu

membuka banyak aplikasi dalam satu masa. Lebih kurang minimize application.

Dikatakan iphone 5 akan dikeluarkan pada Jun/Julai 2011 dan dilengkapi dengan

prosesor baru serta mempunyai saiz yang lebih besar. Pasti ramai yang tidak

sabar menantikan keluaran baru dari Apple.

Switched On: Making the call on Windows Phone 7

Each week Ross Rubin contributes Switched On, a column about consumer technology.


CES 2011 saw the debut of what could be the biggest challenge to the Wintel dominance of personal computing since Windows 95 cemented its position. The combination of the Android operating system on ARM processors -- ARMdroid if you will -- grabbed most of the attention in the emerging tablet category on products such as devices such as the Motorola Xoom and LG G-Slate. But it was also clear that manufacturers -- unconstrained by Cupertinian notions of what operating system is best suited to what kind of device -- are willing to take the combination in new directions that come much closer to the notebook form factor. A clear example of this was the ASUS Eee Pad Slider. If having the tablet thunder stolen from Microsoft wasn't enough to make the company uncomfortable, clearly encroaching designs like this were.

And so, at Steve Ballmer's keynote, the company announced that the next version of Windows will support not only x86 offerings from Intel and AMD – themselves moving closer to ARM-like system-on-chips – but ARM designs from companies such as Qualcomm and NVIDIA as well. Microsoft noted that the new chip support was requested by its partners, implying that PC companies want to take advantage of the long battery life and thin form factors enabled by ARM architectures, but also bring along Windows' broad driver and software support. Microsoft clearly considers the tablet another PC, albeit one that Windows' hardware and user interface layer needs to support better. However, in striking back at Android evolution, Microsoft risks collateral damage to its own mobile OS. Can Windows Phone 7 co-exist with a ARM-based version of the real thing?

Let's look at the competition. Microsoft's support of both x86 and ARM with its "desktop" OS and support of ARM with Windows Phone 7 represents a contrast to Apple and Google -- even though, as Microsoft accurately pointed out, both have dual OS strategies. Apple reserves Mac OS for notebooks and desktops while using iOS in its tablet and smartphone, although some believe that iOS will eventually replace and not just influence Mac OS later down the road. For Google, it's open season, so to speak, as device manufacturers call the shots, but while Android has been moving to support larger devices with the Honeycomb release, Google's Chrome team has also staked out the notebook. Both operating systems support x86 and ARM, and we will no doubt see notebook-like devices with both of them.

While Apple's position is defensible (and the only one that has been successful on both fronts), Switched On has previously questioned the role of Chrome in the wake of Android's success. Is there, then, a need for the just relaunched Windows Phone 7 in a world where Windows itself runs on ARM architectures? While Microsoft refrained from any discussion of the user interface of the next version of Windows, the company made sure to remind us of its touch expertise via a revamped flat-panel version of Surface, and Windows development chief Steven Sinofsky dismissed the challenge of implementing touch user interfaces, even scaled to a variety of differently-sized screens. The next version of Windows -- and apps developed for it -- may well dynamically adapt their UI depending on the usage scenario, with a traditional desktop mode when used as a clamshell notebook, a Metro-like touch experience when used as a tablet, and a Media Center-like experience when projected onto a television screen for a 10-foot entertainment experience.

Microsoft mentioned mobile devices as candidates for this revamped Windows; there's no telling at this point how small that will go. Confusing the matter a bit more, Intel CEO Paul Otellini noted on Intel's most recent earnings call that the PC chip giant will be able to ride "desktop" Windows as it slims down into the handset market. "[W]e have the ability to put our lowest-power Intel processors, running Windows 8 or the next generation of Windows, into phones." As it stands, we might see both of Microsoft's operating systems compete for the same realm.

However, there is a good reason to draw the arbitrary line between Windows and Windows Phone 7 at devices that are indeed phones. Whereas Microsoft's hardware partners may seek more openness in its tablets than what Apple provides, handset carriers want some degree of consistency and control to reduce support costs. Providing that degree of consistency and control could also help differentiate from Android. Or, much as will be the case with 10-inch notebooks running either Android or Chrome, we may well see 4.5-inch or 5-inch handhelds running Windows or Windows Phone 7 both. Perhaps some embedded version of the former will eventually cause the demise of the latter. For the time being, though, there is a place for Windows Phone 7 even as it shares ARM support with its big brother platform.

Arduino

I believe that what you are seeing here is a product of something that Jose Julio’s daughter said to him: “Dad, can you build a robot for me?”
Man, if my daughter asked me that, I would try to deliver as much as I could. Still, I could never make a product of this quality. Granted, the ArduSpider has a certain DIY quality, but mine would probably be made of Lego and would require an instruction booklet.
It would also have been poorly assembled, but this Arduino-based ArduSpider robot looks better than the Anti-Gravity WebRunner toy that we reported about a while ago. Check out the video after the jump.
The ArduSpider robot can be controlled remotely and can also be autonomously operated. Best of all, it can do a lot of tricks like gymnastics and such. It could probably do a flip if it could ever get off its back. All the aforementioned Webrunner could do was climb walls through vacuum suction power.
I have got some words of advice to Jose Julio. Find a way to make a kit and market it so fathers everywhere can build an ArduSpider for their children. Better yet, have the children build it themselves. This is definitely is the Zoids of this generation.

Blackberry Storm 3 Leaked

This week we have already seen two new BlackBerry smartphones leaked, the BlackBerry Dakota and the BlackBerry Curve 2, now it is the turn of the new BlackBerry Storm 3.
The guys over at the BGR have once again obtained some leaked images and specifications on the new BlackBerry Storm 3, and it looks like it will come with a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Other features on the new BlackBerry Storm 3 include a 1.2GHz processor, a five megapixel camera with can record HD video in 720p, 8GB of built in storage and 512MB of RAM.
The BlackBerry Storm 3 will also come with a microSD card slot, a proximity sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi, and can also be used as a 3G mobile hotspot.
There are no details as yet on pricing but it looks like it may launch some time in September of this year.

LEAKED: BlackBerry's Next Handset, The Dakota

 

It looks like the guys over at BGR have gotten their hands on leaked specs and pictures for BlackBerry's latest and greatest handset, the BlackBerry Dakota. Coming in right at the head of the pack, the Dakota will have the sexy stylings you have come to love about the Bold, HD video recording, NFC, 3G hotspot capabilities as well as a host of other features. The thing that makes the Dakota not just another Bold is the presence of the 2.8inch capacitive touch screen. The Dakota will also be running BlackBerry OS 6.1.

Of course there are no solid details at the moment and as with everything, until something solid from RIM comes out, we'll just take this with a pinch of salt.

BlackBerry Releases PlayBook Demo Video. Drooling Ensues.

The landscape for tablets over the past year has been to the tune of iPad this, Galaxy Tab that, with a sprinkle of Xoom and Honeycomb thrown into the mix. However, the boys over at RIM have a very impressive card up their sleeve in the form of the BlackBerry Playbook. We've all seen the pictures and have one friend who is absolutely pining for the release this year (in my case, more than one), but for now BlackBerry have released a walkthrough video which will blow your Apple & Android socks off.

According to the video, the BlackBerry Playbook will be getting some Dual-Core loving allowing it to have true multitasking compared to its competitors. Word on the street is that it can display full HD footage shot by a RED camera while running a demo of Quake 3 at the same time. Also, it looks like the PlayBook will be getting full webpages including inline flash support. The interface looks yummy and I really hope they fixed the supposed battery life problems because doing all of the above would drain a battery faster than a colander full of water.

be launched by Valentines Day. From internal source, Wall Street Journal, iPad 2 more slim, integrated with
wide stereo speaker, having front and back camera, new iOS and also USB port.

So, for those who wanted to buy Ipad 1st version, think twice. Maybe u'll regret for this incoming stuff. ;)

Upgrade from an entry level, Canon EOS 60D is the solution

THE Canon EOS 60D is the camera maker's latest DSLR camera that sits in between the entry-level EOS 550D and high-end EOS 7D.

The EOS 60D, which will replace the 50D, ups the ante for medium-range DSLR camera. It should appeal to users who want more advanced features than what is offered by entry-level cameras.

This is because the EOS 60D is endowed with a host of updated features that include a large 18-megapixel sensor, articulated LCD screen and 1080p HD video recording.

Lots of changes

The EOS 60D has a plastic body which is normal for camera of this class. Also, even though it's made from plastic, the build quality is still solid.

The camera is also now lighter and smaller that its predecessor. Even though it's smaller, a big rubber grip provides ample traction for holding the camera firmly.

Physically, the 60D has undergone dramatic changes especially in terms of the button layout. The power switch has been moved up and it now sits right beneath the mode dial.

Also, many of the settings buttons have been moved around to various parts of the camera to make room for the large 3in articulated LCD screen.

LOCK IT TIGHT: To prevent accidental mode switching the mode dial now has a lock that requires you to press and hold it before you can twist to switch modes.

This is to help prevent from accidentally switching modes but it also makes it difficult to switch between creative shooting modes and the dedicated video record mode on the other end of the dial.

For a camera that's big on HD video recording, this feature makes it frustrating and inconvenient to acces it. It would have been more convenient if the video mode was located closer to the creative shooting modes.

The EOS 60D's high resolution screen is incredibly sharp with very rich colours, and is great for reviewing and framing pictures in live view mode.

The screen's brightness is adjustable and can be bumped up to make it easier to view it outdoors.

Also, the articulated screen is versatile and flexible. You can, for example, flip it around for taking self-portrait shots or flip it out to get a better view of an overhead shot.

USEFUL: The 60D's swivel LCD screen makes it great for creative compositions.

When not in use, the screen can be flipped around to be stowed and protect it from being scratched.

Also, there's now a dedicated live view button that switches on Live view mode and doubles as the record button when in video record mode.

The joystick has also been removed in favour of a directional pad nested between the camera's control dial. The d-pad is definitely a big improvement over the joystick, and it's more comfortable to use and conveniently located for making quick AF point selections.

The settings buttons located above the secondary monochrome LCD screen have been reduced to performing a single function per button.

This allows quicker access to some functions but limits the number of features you can access.

Strangely though even with all the buttons, the EOS 60D is missing a dedicated button for white balance.

Although you can set a custom button for this purpose, it is strange to find that it lacks a button for such a frequently used setting.

Another big change is that the camera now accepts SD cards, so you're going to have to trade your CF cards if you're moving up from a 50D.

NEAT: The new iPod touch benefits from a faster A4 processor and built-in gyroscope that enhances the overall gaming experience.

Games in general look better and ran incredibly smooth as we played Retina Display-optimised games such as Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Real Racing and N.O.V.A.

Pros: Sharp-looking Retina Display; speedy performance for apps; HD video recording.

Cons: Poor still photos; no microphone-equipped earphones provideEndd.

Telefon Sony PlayStation

Mungkin sudah sekian lama para peminat PlayStation dan PSP yang meminta-minta supaya Sony mengeluarkan telefon pintar berasaskan PlayStation. Dan memandangkan Microsoft mengetengahkan XBox melalui Windows Phone 7, Sony turut tidak ingin ketinggalan dalam memperkenalkan telefon PlayStation. Lebih menarik lagi, daripada gambaran yang diperlihatkan, telefon PlayStation ini kelak akan menggunakan Android sebagai sistem operasinya.

Perantian telefon PlayStation ini menggunakan prosessor 1GHz QualComm, 512MB RAM, 1GB ROM, dan juga skrin dengan keluasan antara 3.7-inch hingga 4.1-inch. Ianya kelak akan dikeluarkan dibawah jenama Sony Erriccson, dan didatangkan dengan keupayaan skrin sentuh untuk kawalan telefon, dan juga pad butang kawalan yang boleh slide untuk mengawal permainan padanya.

Buat masa ini, telefon PlayStation ini masih lagi dalam peringkat prototaip, dan ianya mungkin dilepaskan kepada umum pada tahun hadapan kelak.

Tentang Nokia N8

Nokia N8 (N8: 12 Megapixel-nya Nokia…) disebut-sebut memiliki sensor kamera terbesar di antara semua handphone kamera, bahkan lebih besar daripada kebanyakan kamera digital biasa.

Seberapa besar sebenarnya sensor kamera yang dimiliki oleh 12 megapixel-nya Nokia ini? Blog GSMArena pernah mencuba menghitung besaran tersebut dan diperoleh hasil 1/1.9″, yang jauh lebih besar daripada yang terbesar sebelumnya, yaitu 1/2.5″ pada Sony Ericsson Satio atau Samsung Pixon12.

Ternyata, hasil perhitungan di atas kurang tepat. Yang mengejutkan adalah bahwa ukuran sensornya ternyata jauh lebih besar, yaitu 1/1.83″. Nilai ini diperoleh dari wawancara ekslusif antara tim GSMArena dengan Damian Dinning,Senior Manager at Solutions Planning Nokia, yang memiliki peran besar dalam pengembangan kamera dan video dari produk sebelumnya seperti Nokia N95, Nokia N73, Nokia N82, dan Nokia N86 8MP.

Berikut petikan kesimpulan dari wawancara di atas:

• Ukuran sensor kamera Nokia N8 adalah 1/1.83″, nilai ini lebih besar (dan lebih baik) daripada kebanyakan kamera digital biasa.
• Kekuatan flash kira-kira sebanding dengan yang ada pada Nokia N82.
• Menambahkan penutup lensa pada Nokia N8 akan membuat bagian kamera lebih tebal. Sebagai penggantinya maka ditambahkan suatu penutup dari bahan kaca anti gores. Sebuah ND filter dipakai sebagai pengganti sistem bukaan variabel. ND filter adalah filter tembus pandang yang dapat mengurangi intensitas cahaya tanpa menyebabkan perubahan warna. Dengan demikian adanya filter ND di depan lensa memungkinkan kamera untuk mengambil gambar dalam pencahayaan terang tanpa mengurangi aperture.
• Encoding jenis H.264 digunakan untuk merekam video dan AAC untuk audio yang  stereo. Video untuk saat ini dikodekan pada sekitar 9 mbits/detik (mungkin berubah), stereo audio dikodekan pada 128 kbits /detik dengan sampel 48 kHz.
• Video tidak memiliki autofocus berkesinambungan dan menggunakan sistem Active Hyper Focal Distance untuk memastikan fokusnya. Dengan cara ini kemampuan makro kamera video akan hilang tetapi membuktikan kehandalan fokus selama perekaman video.
• Nokia N8 tidak akan mendukung mode perakaman video khusus seperti video kecepatan tinggi 120 fps video atau perakaman time-lapse.
• Koneksi HDMI memungkinkan baik video maupun foto masih dapat dilihat sampai dengan resolusi 1280 x 720 dan mendukung 5,1 Dolby Surround sound

N8 mempunyai feature USB On-The-Go. Feature ini memungkinkan sebuah USB flash drive dibaca secara langsung oleh N8, atau bahkan perangkat lain yang memiliki sambungan USB boleh dibaca oleh N8. Kalau x faham tgk kat video ni jer.

Aku nak promote sket gadget yg aku rasa best utk korang pkai. BB ni kalo korang pkai 3 4 ari
mgkin korg rsa x brapa best, but believe me, i take a time for u to love this cool stuff..! penggemar internet bleh langgan pakej yg disediakan oleh stiap network iaitu BIS (blackberry internet service) yg unlimited! means korang bleh download or surf byk mna pn korang nak without limitation. fon ni dilengkapi dgn camera 3.2mp, ada built-in gps, wifi and 'clickable' touch. clickable tu la yg buat phone ni berbeza ngn fon2 lain. nk cerita susah, korg pegi belek sndiri la kt kedai. ataupun dtg je kt aku, aku tgh pkai enset ni skrg..hehe ..scrolling dia puas ati jgk smooth mcm iphone jer. fon ni x la mahal sgt, kira affordable la sbb org susah mcm aku pon bule je pkai fon ni. kalo rasa nak beli fon and nak mintak suggestion, jgn malu2 nk tnya aku. byk jgk la aku taw pasal gadget2 ni. nak tolong belikn pn boleh. :)
